Quality people building a supportive program culture.
Our number one asset is our people. We believe in supporting and empowering our fellows to intentionally create a program culture that optimizes the learning experience. For everyone. We place a premium on camaraderie, teamwork, and the importance of looking out for each other. We know that you will feel this camaraderie the day you arrive and hopefully this will come across during this process. We are here to help you develop personally and professionally. We believe that success should be defined by you- not some preconceived notion of what we think your future should be. Fellowship is a time of great personal and professional growth and we strive to support you both within and outside the walls of our hospital. We want you to be challenged and to develop academically, while maintaining balance and enjoying this exciting time in your life.
One of the many program strengths is the breadth of training. First and foremost, we are committed to training outstanding clinicians. You will work in a state of the art facility on the campus of one of the top public universities in the world. We are a busy (and growing) quaternary referral center . Our fellows are at the forefront of clinical care delivery, working alongside outstanding medical residents and medical students from the University of Michigan. We offer a broad range of clinical and basic science research opportunities with outstanding mentorship from world renowned investigators. Dedicated advanced research training is most commonly supported through a 2 year NIH-T-32 training grant. The University Hospital, Frankel Cardiovascular Center, Mott Children's hospital and UM medical school are all on one site. Our VA hospital is located a walkable distance away . Our fellows love their time at the VA because of the diverse patient population, autonomy and outstanding teachers. Not only is the University of Michigan a great place to work, Ann Arbor is a fabulous place to call home- frequently ranked among the top places to live in the US.
