EDC 400 taught me a lot about understanding adult learners. It also helped me understand my motivators for education as well as how my personal motivations and ways of thinking will construct my learning style and approach as an educator in the future. Key intrinsic motivators for me include self-sufficiency, satisfaction, and a personal feeling of achievement. My idea of satisfaction reaches beyond just the satisfaction of knowing “I made it”. Instead, I have a genuine craving to be intelligent, intellectual, and knowledgeable. That is the most satisfying factor that I strive for. I believe I follow a combination of goal-orientated and learning-oriented learning because I have very specific goals that I hope to accomplish in my education, like earning a degree to get a job and work to survive, and at the same time I learn to become knowledgeable.
