Air Dry Clay, Acrylic Paints

This pottery set consists of three pieces: a leaf dish, a tree mug, and a wind inspired bowl. They were all created using air dry clay and painted with acrylic paints. I made pinch pots for the bases, used clay tools to etch details, and used the score and slip method to attach any additional pieces. This set is based around environmental sustainability and explores ways to stay reminded of nature in daily life. As plastic pollution, fast fashion, and other things harmful to the environment continue to grow, I wanted these pieces to highlight the beauty and importance of nature. After all, the environment is the foundation of life on Earth. No matter what they end up holding, these pieces will always represent that foundation.
