About Me

Biography & Personal Statement

Jenita Shrestha is a sophomore from Prince Frederick, MD studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is interested in design, film, music, and illustration and is excited to explore and improve her current and new skills. In her free time, she practices piano, plays games,  and crochets.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, she intends to expand on her artistic capabilities, gain new perspectives, experience unfamiliar art forms, and delve into research through her Capstone project. Another aspect of the scholar's program she looks forward to is giving back to her community through mentorship, where she desires to assist other members of Art Scholars. 

She wants to positively impact society through her engineering degree, ensuring safety, creating reliable systems, or contributing to research and analysis. Arts Scholars will challenge her to think and express herself creatively, gain new skills, and better understand the world's many expressions. These lessons will be an integral addition to the knowledge gained from her Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.
