Understanding Multilingual YouTube

Project Description

We're doing lots of research on how YouTube algorithms recommend different types of content in different languages. We'd love help from students who've got language skills (Portuguese, Hindi, Spanish, Russian) and can help us understand cultural context of certain types of videos that get recommended

Learning Objectives:

We'll be learning how to hand-code qualitative data, how to put together a codebook, how to formulate and test hypothesis through data collection and analysis.

Skills needed:

• Language skills.

• Competency with web browsers, web forms.
