Wearable Learning Cloud Platform

Project Title: Wearable Learning Cloud Platform

Professor: Ivon Arroyo

Lab/Research Group: See https://advancedlearningtech.com

Project Description

Currently hosted at wearablelearning.org, the Wearable Learning Cloud Platform aims to improve K-12 student education in early computer science and mathematics, through embodied physically active learning and programmatic thinking. Through our platform, students and teachers can both design and play fun interactive games that incorporate math, technology and physical activity. You will be working on the WLCP platform, which enables young users to both play and program interactive games, created with a simple visual programming language. Games can be deployed on various mobile devices, such as phones, tablets, etc.

As part of this project you could be working on:

  1. The Wearable Learning Cloud Platform itself (you can log in to test it from WearableLearning.org, and also see some tutorials); this is basically a programming language accessible even to children (Java, Bootstrap/HTML);

  2. An android-based client, an Android App for phones and watches. We want to create a front end that is cool and accessible through a variety of small devices, so that players could have a variety of options to play games from (you would be working in an Android programming environments)
