Since 2024, Dr Nurzatil has assumed a leadership role in her department as the Program Coordinator for the Master’s in Science Communication and Public Engagement. Beyond this role, she actively contributes to several key academic committees, including the Curriculum Review Committee for the Master of Sustainability Science, the Self-Assessment Report Preparation Team for the AUN-QA Evaluation of the same program, and serves as a member of the Faculty of Science’s Higher Degree Committee (JKITF).
Dr Nurzatil is also a content developer and course instructor for the ODL Master of Sustainability Science programme and has designed a micro-credential module titled “Introduction to Biosafety for Modern Biotechnology.” Her commitment to academic capacity building extends beyond Universiti Malaya; she is part of the core team developing DELIMA (Delivery of Early-Career Leadership Initiatives for Madani Academics), a collaborative project between the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and AKEPT, aimed at supporting early-career academics in Malaysia.
In her pursuit of teaching innovation, she actively engages with the broader education community. She regularly participates in Digitally Enhanced Education Webinars to stay updated on emerging digital technologies in teaching and learning. In 2024, she undertook a one-week study visit to the Athena Institute, VU Amsterdam, sponsored by the ERASMUS+ OPEN ASIA project, where she explored the design and implementation of the Science Shop concept to strengthen university-community engagement in teaching and learning.
