Research Visit to Chalmers University, Sweden

We had an amazing time visiting research facilities at Energy and Materials, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden!

We were fortunate to meet an incredible team, led by Associate Professor Martina Petranikova, who are at the forefront of lithium recycling research. Their work focuses on developing hydrometallurgical processes to recover valuable metals from both primary and secondary sources, such as ores, concentrates, spent portable and car batteries, steel making dust, mining waste, and electronic equipment waste.

The team's research involves a range of innovative techniques, including leaching, solvent extraction, precipitation, and electrowinning, which are optimized and scaled up for industrial application. It was fascinating to see the state-of-the-art mixer-settlers of various sizes and pulse columns used to scale up solvent extraction processes.

We left inspired by the dedication and expertise of the researchers in advancing sustainable solutions for materials and energy sectors. 🌱♻️ The future of resource recovery looks promising thanks to groundbreaking work like this!

Celebrating Innovation and Collaboration at #MCYSummit2023 🚀

Grateful to MRANTI and MOSTI for hosting this transformative event! For 7 years, MCY has ignited sparks of creativity and unity between industry and academia, empowering youth talents to bring their groundbreaking ideas to life.

During the roundtable session of the youth forum, our lead researcher, Assoc. Prof Dr Muzamir shared his insights, illuminating the path for Malaysia's future in innovation. He believes that our minds possess the power to shape our destiny, and through this realization, we foster a sustainable ecosystem in technology, promising a brighter tomorrow for our beloved nation.

Research Visit at GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, India in conjunction of International Conference on Smartnanotechnologies (ICONSNT)

Dr Muzamir was invited as a keynote speaker at Gitam University at the nternational Conference on Smartnanotechnologies (ICONSNT), jointly organised by Qatar University, UiTM and GITAM university and INHA University Korea. While in Gitam, we had an amazing lab tour at GITAM University, led by Professor Dr Santhosh Kumar. His work at the Organic Chemistry Lab has resulted in a recent impactful publication; The Journal of Organic Chemistry (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acs.joc.2c03078).
