Start with the practical arrangements when you are sure that you will receive approval of the faculty (= the status 'meets the prerequisites' in the exchange portal. This status can be found in your 'Exchange portal' - top right).
Please note that finding accommodation is your own responsibility, but be cautious of fraud!

Be careful with paying deposits in advance. Be sure to discuss al the details of the rental fee before agreeing to a rental contract and make sure to have a written confirmation with all the details in the contract/mail.
Please note that arranging transport is your own responsibility. Think about the environment. Use public transport if possible!
Erasmus awards more travel allowance for students who use green transport (see Erasmus Grant).
TIP: it is advised to consider buying a flexible ticket (in case of unforeseen circumstances, such as a shorter or longer stay abroad)

Visa – especially for non-EER students: check if you can travel with your visa and be sure that you have also a valid residence permit for Belgium!
