Creative Commons licenses allow creators of web content -- including you -- to share your work and indicate how you want it to be used. For example, you may simply want the user to recognize you as the creator or, in other words, to "attribute" the work to you. Or, you may not want your work modified in any way, in other words, that it must be shared verbatim meaning "no derivatives".
