Table etiquette refers to manners and rules on how to conduct oneself at the table while eating. Whether it be a 5-star restaurant or your family's cookout, good manners while eating are key in properly portraying yourself to those around you. The rules slightly change depending on your region and country though so we will just teach you the generalized basics here.
In this video, we will discuss some of the Do's and Don'ts of Southern table etiquette
If there is a food you do not like, Do not verbally announce your dislike of the food. Just don't eat it.
Do Not scream or holler at the table. That is rude to the guest that is trying to have a conversation. Use your inside voice instead.
Do thank your host and guest for the great meal and company.
Do not play with your food. If you are finished eating, place your silverware across your plate and talk to the other guest or asked to be dismissed.
These rules are put in place to ensure everyone can have a nice time while enjoying their meal. Not following these rules can make some people not have a great dining experience so, be respectful of other's feelings too.
