What happens when we combine algebra & geometry? For others, it may be confusing and intimidating, but did you know that we will form a new branch of mathematics that is concerned with it? Its the analytic geometry or also known as Cartesian geometry. Using the cartesian coordinate system, we can show and describe the curves and geometric objects with their properties in numerical terms. Rene Descartes was credited with formulating this concets of analytic, particular in conic sections. Today, application of the concepts are vital in wide variety of disciplines such in architectural designs, engineering projects, astronomy, computers, mapping, surveying, navigations, and etc.
