Finding high quality, useful research and research-based programs can be challenging. But several educator-friendly resources exist to help you and your colleagues navigate what's out there. This session features presentations from three of those resources- the What Works Clearinghouse, Digital Promise's research tools, and the Pennsylvania Evidence Resource Center. Boost your confidence and success in finding evidence that will work for you!
About the Presenters:
Erin Pollard is an Education Research Analyst at the U.S Department of Education. Ms. Pollard serves as the Program Officer for the Education Resources Information Center. Prior to working at the U.S Department of Education, Ms. Pollard worked as an Education Consultant at the Center for American Progress.
Noreen O’Neill has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Noreen has been honored with
several educator awards and has published articles on her experiences as a building leader. She has served in educational service agencies in the roles of Supervisor of Staff Development, Assistant Executive Director, and is currently the Director of Innovative Educational Services at the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
Laura Mikowychok is the Principal Designer & Owner of Laura A. Mikowychok Design & Media, LLC. Ms. Mikowychok provides full service graphic design and media production services for organizations. Prior to starting a business, Ms. Mikowychok was the Director of Marketing at Access Group, Inc.
Medha Tare is the Director of Research for the Learner Variability Project at Digital Promise. Dr. Tare is an experienced research professional with a background in learning sciences and technology use. Prior to working at Digital Promise, Dr. Tare was an Associate Research Scientist at the University of Maryland Center for Advanced Study of Language.
Jessica Jackson serves as the Practitioner Partnership Director for the Learner Variability Project at Digital Promise. Prior to working with Digital Promise, Ms. Jackson was the Director of Academic Achievement at Capstone Education Group.
