I always knew I wanted to be a fashion major. I have constantly loved the way clothes made me feel, changed my mood, and expressed my personality. When I was young, one day I would pretend to be a princess wearing a tiara and pink tulle dress, another day I would wear an ice skating dress to gymnastics class. (Yes, this has all been done). It did not matter what the day had in store for me, at a young age I realized I could set my mood by the clothing I wore. Getting dressed in the morning was and still is a creative outlet for me. I increased my love for fashion during high school, where I took fashion design classes. At this point I knew fashion was something I wanted to pursue in the future. I always have had a creative yet business mindset. I felt that fashion merchandising was a great mix of my two passions. Fashion merchandising allowed me to pursue my interest in fashion markets, product development, and trend forecasting. I was able to equally use my left and right brain as a fashion merchandising major. As I continued my time at the University of Delaware I added a business administration minor. During these classes I was able to develop an understanding of business language and principles. It was a great mix of marketing, economics, and management. As it comes time to graduate I am forever thankful for my time at the University of Delaware as it allowed me to solidify a career in something I am passionate about.
