ONLINE & OUT OF BOUNDS?

Exploring the Evolving Issues Surrounding ISP Liability

Description

On the Internet, everything is powered through services, most of which are provided by private entities. We know these Internet service providers (ISPs) as companies ranging from access providers (like AT&T and Spectrum) to hosting services (like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud) and search engines (like Google and Bing), among others. As society continues to advance technologically, the interpretation of their legal limits is being redefined every day. Therefore, ISP liability represents a major issue and presents an interesting set of questions in today’s ever-evolving cyberlaw. Join us as we explore:

  • How regulations differ around the world and how to adapt your legal outlook to account for this.

  • Copyright law and the pitfalls of hyperlinking and downloads.

  • Personal image and content—who “owns” your personal information online and what can they do with it?
