Red-shouldered hawks frequent our neighborhood. We often see one on our early morning dog walks. This first one is easily my favorite of the Red-shouldered Hawks. If you look close you will see it is holding a Jerusalem Cricket in its beak. I was watching it sitting on that post, then it flew down to the ground, grabbed the cricket and flew back to the post, giving me this great shot. It also conveniently gave me very nice views of both front and back. This is all possible due to digital photography. There were about 40 more images I shot between those two in less than a minute. The bottom one actually came first and I was really happy. Then the show really started.
