Here are the other birds of prey I have photographed. These are generally birds we see much less frequently.

This Peregrin Falcon hangs out regularly along West Cliff in Santa Cruz. We have seen it on numerous occasions, always on this or a similarly "scenic" perch.
According to others, there has been a pair of Osprey's also hanging out along West Cliff, although I've only seen one.
It was doing some preening, so although I didn't get it in flight, it did give me this fun "fluff".
Here is an Osprey in flight on campus. I rarely see them here.
After Red-tailed Hawks and Red-shouldered Hawks, Kestrels are our most frequent visitors, although being smaller and rather shy, they have been a bit more of a challenge to photograph. We usually see one hovering off in the distance, although they don't hover as much as the White-tailed Kites.
This was taken in December 2019 with my new lens but before upgrading from my original Canon EOS Rebel camera.
A rare rainy day in Santa Cruz.
When I think "Birds of Prey" I think hawks, falcons, and the like, but it also includes vultures, hence the following pair of photos of Turkey Vultures. They are rather common in our area. The one sunning on the post was taken during a visit to Westport CA and the other in Ukiah.
We also have a pair of Golden Eagles that visit the campus from time to time.
I took this April 14, 2011 with a Canon Powershot, point and shoot camera I used to carry on my ride to work. This eagle was sitting on the ground very near the UCSC bike path. I stopped to take a picture and got lucky. Prior to my recent (last 2 years) equipment upgrade, this was probably my favorite bird photo.
This was taken in May 2010 using my original Canon EOS Rebel and a relatively inexpensive 55-250mm zoom lens.
I took this in July 2021. This couple was around and there was speculation they might be making a nest nearby, although that was never confirmed. They frequented a specific redwood along the upper edge of UCSC's Great Meadow, which the bike path passes through.
I captured this pair of Bald Eagles in January 2022 while visiting our daughter in Annapolis MD. They were nesting very near her house.
On 2/17/2022 we went to Panoche Hills where we saw this Ferruginous Hawk.
