We don't see Cooper's Hawks nearly as often as Red-tailed or Red-shouldered, but back in May through July 2020 we were treated to a pair nesting in a tree in a parking lot very near our house, a place we pass by almost every day. It turns out that Cooper's Hawks are very aggressive at protecting their nest. They apparently interpret a camera lens as some predatory behavior and swoop down at your head when you aim the camera at them.
