On a walk I have done many times from Madeline's house in Annapolis I was treated to a pair of Ospreys and a Bald Eagle. The Ospreys were nesting ona platform that I presume was built for them or for eagles. There are several of these platforms in the area. I suspect that is maybe a webcam but I have no idea where to find it on the web.
Here is the eagle and the osprey having a minor encounter.
This Great Blue Heron was at the same location as the above eagle and osprey, Blackwalnut Creek which feeds into the Chesapeake Bay.
Black-billed Magpie - we saw these in many places. These photos are from Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming.
On the Yellowstone River we were treated to watching a pair of Harlequin Ducks playing or feeding in the rapids. They are in the lower left corner of this photo. I regretted later not having the sense to take a short video. They arrive every year. A few days before we arrived there were 12 pairs. They essentially stay in one place, ducking under the water from time to time.
Resting up after their workout in the rapids.
Bufflehead - Yellowstone NP
Greater Scaup - Yellowstone NP
Osprey - Yellowstone NP. This one is guarding a nest nearby. We were on Firehole Canyon Road, one of the smaller roads. It was just one-way with one lane. There was a sign just before we saw this Osprey that said don't stop because of a nesting bird of prey. After clearing that section of road I was able to get this shot.
Tree Swallow - Yellowstone NP. We saw these in several other locations as well.
Mountain Bluebird - Yellowstone NP
Osprey - Grand Teton NP
Downy Woodpecker - Just east of Grand Teton NP
American Wigeon - Grand Teton National Park
White Pelican - Grand Teton NP
