Our Partners

Techno Hub

Techno Hub is a program under Voices of Women Media that provides classes that teach a tech and social justice-focused curriculum to local high school girls in Kathmandu, Nepal.

We have collaborated with Techno Hub to create a series of video tutorials, which cover a range of subjects including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Graphic Design through Canva, Social Media Safety, and Photography.

Voices of Women Media

Voices of Women Media is an international organization that provides digital-storytelling tools to migrant women in order to share their perspectives with the world. The organization highlights the importance of participatory media and storytelling as ways towards connection and justice.

Project Overview

Project Need

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions, the TechnoHub program of Voices of Women Media had been put on pause for about a year. So the staff hoping us can create some tutorial video can help girls to re-learning or to remember what they learned before. Staffs also want us include topics that girls are interested in.

Our Solution

We plan to create an efficient and innovative tech curriculum that allows students to learn basic computer skills and different forms of media in a fun and engaging way. We recorded 8 tutorial videos, and keep them 5-10 minutes long, edit some of them with Nepalese subtitles.

Lessons Learned

Hands

One of the main tech tools we learned and used was video editing. From pre production to post production, we implemented the necessary steps to create these tutorials. The main software we used was iMovie and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Heads

Our partnership with Voices of Women Media and Techno Hub gave us the opportunity to learn more about Nepal, its culture, and relevent social issues and dynamics.

Hearts

Our favorite part of working with VOW Media, Techno Hub, and each other was the relationships we built. We were able to connect with women from all over the world, learn from them, and become inspired through their passion.
