Urology is the specialty focusing on the

diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting

the urinary tract and male reproductive

organs through both medical and surgical

interventions. Common interventions

include cystectomy, nephrectomy, prostate

biopsy, prostatectomy (transurethral

resection and radical), ureteral stent

placement. Urologists practice in both

ambulatory and inpatient settings.
