Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

PM&R, also known as physiatry, is a

medical specialty that helps restore function

to people who have been disabled by

trauma, injury, neuromuscular, or from

multiple comorbidities from other diseases

or disorders. Physiatrists treat patients with

chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord

injury, stroke, amputation and work in

inpatient and outpatient settings, acute

rehabilitation units.
