Getting to Know Miss Levan
This is my fifth year at Marvin Elementary and my 6th year as a School Counselor. Prior to becoming a School Counselor, I worked in Childcare as a Toddler Teacher turned Administrator. During my time in childcare, I realized that my passion for helping students centered around their social-emotional needs and I went back to school to obtain my Master's in School Counseling. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte with my Master's in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling in May of 2020. My favorite part of the role of a school counselor is the direct services we get to provide to students. I enjoy directly interacting with students through classroom character education & social-emotional lessons, individual counseling sessions, and group counseling.
As a profesional school counselor, I will strive to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that encompasses students' developmental needs in regards to academics, career, and social-emotional development. I will advocate for students' involvement in a developmentally appropriate setting that fosters a safe and supportive learning environment. I will work collaboratively and cohesively with students, families, colleagues, district personnel, and community members to provide students with the resources and guidance necessary for them to thrive and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Professional School Counselor, I will uphold the professional standards referenced by the American School Counselor Association and will continue to educate myself in the evolving field through continuing education opportunities.
