The MPRA Academy will be accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Freshmen and Sophomore MPRA Classes. Students accepted into the pathway should expect to take courses in music theory, numerous instrumental or choral classes, and technology and music engineering classes during their CATA experience.
Students looking to enter CATA’s MPRA Academy must complete an audition to see if you meet the following requirements:
Student should play an instrument or sing.
Student can read sheet music/tab/or fingering charts.
Student must have an interest in recording technology and digital media arts.

Students must complete an application on Scribbles in addition to the MPRA Audition.

Traditional Band Instrument Audition
Traditional Band Instruments, please click the link below and find the “Middle School Scales.” Play the given scales based on your instrument.
Visit the middle school scales and click on the appropriate instrument:
C Instruments (Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Trombone, Euphonium B.C., Tuba and Mallets) play your F Major Scale and Eb Major Scale in the written rhythm with the arpeggio.
Bb Instruments (Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet and Euphonium T.C.) play your G Major Scale and F Major Scale in the written rhythm with the arpeggio.
Eb Instruments (Alto Saxophone and Baritone Saxophone) play your C Major Scale and D Major Scale in the written rhythm and arpeggio.
F Instrument (French Horn) plays your C Major Scale and Ab Major Scale in the written rhythm and arpeggio.
For percussionists, please record yourself stating your first and last name, what school you attend, and yourself playing the single stroke and multiple bounce rolling exercises on snare drum. Use the links below:

Playing 60 seconds of a song of your choice that showcases your playing ability.
Multi-instrumentalists may submit additional 60 second videos of different instruments
Vocal Audition
Vocalists looking to apply to CATA will be required to record ONE video of yourself singing My Country ‘Tis of Thee in two different keys.
Please record yourself stating your first and last name, what school you attend, and yourself singing My Country ‘Tis of Thee in both the Medium and Low Key. Please sing along with the accompaniment tracks provided below.
Vocalists may also submit an additional video of themselves singing a song of their choice in addition to the My Country 'Tis of Thee video.
