ED 230: History and Culture of Schooling

Welcome to the UCI MAT Multiple Subject Program! I am one of the instructors for Summer Session I, and I will be teaching The History and Culture of Schooling in the United States course. In preparation for the course, please be sure to purchase the following textbook as soon as possible:
Fraser, J. W. (2019). The school in the United States: A documentary history (4th edition). New York: Routledge.
There is quite a bit of reading for this course, as we have 400+ years of educational history to cover in 5 short weeks. Please come prepared on 6/21 having read the following chapters from the Fraser textbook as well as the articles in this Google Folder. I have also included the readings for 6/23 for those of you who would like to get a head start on the readings.
