At this point in the project, we've started writing our prospectus and I think that it also going pretty well. So far I've been able to make it to 3 pages and it's really only the outline of what the final paper is going to look like, so it gives me hope that I might actually make it into a 10-12 page essay.
Although while writing up my prospectus, I have encountered a few problems, like how I'm going to integrate the secondary sources in a way that helps and supports my own analysis without just making it seem like I'm making their argument turn into mine.
There's also a problem of repetition. While writing the prospectus, it seemed like some of the things I was writing was repetitive. Since my argument is really only based on a few things in the legend and it includes having to connect it to Vietnamese-American experiences, which can, or might, get repetitive.
But moving onto the Multi-Modual work, I think the prospectus does provide a good guideline for how I'm going to set things up. I think doing both words and pictures to explain what is going on in the story will help with the visualization of the conceptual things. I would basically be in the format and structure of what this entire webpage has been throughout the year.
I would like to think that things are moving pretty smoothly; I feel like I'm able to get what I see and think onto the paper in a way that won't be too boring to read. I feel excited to talk about the worldbuilding aspects that are present in this legend that makes up a part of my childhood.
