More of Me!

If you've decided to venture onto this page, chances are you're a classmate, professor, or one of my family members insisting on seeing every page of the website, despite the fact that you already know everything I'm about to say. Regardless, welcome! I'm Francesca Fong a first-year Social Ecology major here at UCI. Social Ecology (I know you're wondering) is a combination of Urban Planning & Public Policy, Psychological Sciences, and Criminology, Law, and Society. I am incredibly interested in studying people - why we organize the way we do, how we think about and interact with our environments, where our biases come from and how we act on them, and literally every other sociological query I could come up with. Needless to say, our Humanities Core theme this year is out of my comfort zone. I love animals just as much as the next person (as a vegetarian and huge fan of the movie "Fantastic Mr. Fox"), but I have yet to study them with such depth. I look forward to furthering my knowledge of animals, culture, and humanity through the readings, lectures, and discussions HumCore provides, and I invite you to ride this thought-provoking wave along with me!
