Diversity Statement 

I hope to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, justice and belonging in my endeavors as an ecologist and writer. I identify as an LGBTQIA+ scientist, specifically as bi+/ace spec. To work and grow towards these values, I participate or have previously participated in the following:

• Full Board Member for Northern California Botanists 

• Student Representative for the UC Davis Ecology Graduate Group's Executive Committee 

• Science Mentor for the Mountain View High School Science Olympiad team

• Student Section Chair and Liaison for the California Invasive Plant Council & member of the CAL-IPC Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee 

• Organizer & Special Projects co-chair for Hands on the Land (2022-2023)

• Volunteer for UC Davis Kids into Discovering Science Program

• Mentor for the Ecology & Evolution Graduate Preview Program 

• Member of the UC Davis Graduate Group in Ecology Diversity Committee 

• Co-leader of Ecology Graduate Student Association Academic Development Committee  (2022-2023)
