 Introducing SIMMBA: A Smart Mobility Mapping Platform

We’ve developed SIMMBA — the Smart Infrastructure Mapping, Modular Base and Algorithms platform — a LiDAR-equipped mobility device designed to map sidewalks, curb zones, and active transportation infrastructure with high spatial precision.

Built to operate in pedestrian environments, SIMMBA integrates:

• 3D LiDAR, stereo cameras, GPS/IMU, and edge computing

• A modular design for rapid sensor customization

• Real-time localization and environment perception

SIMMBA is now actively mapping accessible infrastructure in urban areas as part of our NSERC-funded projects.
