Honglin Jiang recently graduated with a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering from the University of Alberta under the supervision of Dr. Karim El-Basyouny. His research focused on applying Transformer architecture to 3D point clouds and leveraging large language models (LLMs) to describe highway environments based on segmentation outputs from light detection and ranging (LiDAR). His work demonstrated high accuracy in extracting multiple highway infrastructure elements at the point-wise level. He is currently a research assistant on Dr. Karim's research team.Â
