II. Advancing Winter Road Maintenance Systems with Data Intelligence and Analytics
Our team is also collaborating on an NSERC Alliance Advantage grant awarded to PI Dr. Tae J. Kwon. This project will develop the Cold Road Intelligence and Management System (CRIMS), a comprehensive decision-support platform that utilizes advanced cloud computing to facilitate real-time AI-based analytics, integrating multimodal data analytics, intelligent sensor network optimization, climate-resilient pavement strategies and inclusive accessibility metrics. I. Enhancing Traffic Mobility: A Strategic Framework for Accurate Volume Estimation and Optimal Monitoring Network Design
Our team is collaborating on another recently awarded NSERC Alliance Advantage grant led by Dr. Tae J. Kwon. This project introduces VISTA (Visualization and Interactive System for Traffic Analytics), an interactive GIS-based platform. VISTA leverages cutting-edge geospatial modeling and multimodal AI techniques, integrating diverse data sources including satellite imagery, aerial images, land-use characteristics, and socioeconomic factors to significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of traffic volume estimations. I. Transportation and Land Use Design for Alberta’s Wildfire-Prone Communities
The Alberta Real Estate Foundation has funded this project led by Dr. Stephen Wong. This project will create a conceptual framework, conduct empirical assessments of existing neighbourhoods, and create practice-oriented recommendations for developing resilient communities that help protect people and property in wildfires.
