The cart was donated to the Faculty of Native Studies by the Métis Nation of Alberta. The cart signifies the important relationship between the MNA, the Rupertsland Institute, and the Faculty of Native Studies. It is also an important physical symbol on campus, representing the historical and contemporary Métis presence on these lands.
