Professional Visits

A range of professional visits to libraries of different types, museums, cultural sites, and bookshops organized in collaboration with AIB Lazio (the Regional Section of the Italian Library Association) will be held on Friday 21st of July. Visits, depending on the conditions offered by the hosting Institutions, will be charged to cover the costs (e.g.,admission ticket, lunch).
Library visits (July 21): participants can make their own choice within a range of equivalent pathways. More details, including the description of each route and the link to the registration page, are being published very soon. In the meantime, for planning and budgeting purposes, here is some general information that applies to all of the 1-day professional and cultural tours.

Hour and Meeting Point for Route 1 and Route 4: 8.15 a.m. in the main atrium of the Generalate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools
General info and tour structure:
Number of participants: the average number of allowed participants for each group is 10-15, but tours can be done for groups from 5 up to 20 participants (for each group).
Starting point and time: all tours will begin at 08:15 am (meeting point: lobby of Casa La Salle) and end at 06:00 pm (circa).
Means of transportation: the first venue of each tour will be reached by public transportation (metro/bus); the venues of each tour are located in the same area and are at a walking distance.
Visit structure: all of the options are equivalent and include a school library, a library of different types (e.g., academic, national, parliamentary etc.), a cultural site (e.g., museum, gallery etc.), a specialized bookshop, and in-between the lunch.
Assistance: each group will be accompanied by a member of the Italian Library Association - Regional Section "Lazio" for the whole duration of the tour.
Language: English.
Alternative locations: in case of unexpected unavailability - non depending on the organizers - of one or more venues, participants will be provided with an alternative of the same type and in the same area. .
Registration and payment:
Fee: the registration fee for each of the tours (similar programme, different locations) is the same : $ 50USD per person, including metro/bus tickets, lunch, admission ticket(s); information flyer; certificate of attendance.
2 options to be expressed: when registering, a participant has to express two options - 1 (priority); 2 (2nd choice) - since the tours are arranged on a "first come, first served" basis. The Library Visits Committee will do its best to meet the participant's first choice; this might be hard (for instance, in case of late registration or limitations required by the hosting institution), so a "plan B" has to be ready ("just in case").

Registration deadline: SUN July 9, 2023 (h 23:59).
Registration on-site: for better planning and organizing purposes of the tours, online registration is preferred. However, someone can register and pay on-site, depending on the room availability in the chosen tour.
Cancellation policy: cancellations received prior to Sunday, July 9, 2023 will receive a full refund. Cancellations must be received in writing, via email, to the IASL Secretariat at jill@c2cpro.solutions. Cancellations received after this date will not be refunded. Registrations may be transferred to another individual (within the same zone) at any time with no penalty.
