Teaching controversial issues is inherent and necessary in both the clinical and classroom-based learning environments. In this interactive workshop, participants will share experiences and develop an approach to teaching controversial issues.
Dr. Sonya Lee is an academic family physician at the University of Calgary, Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Lee practices broad scope family medicine and clinical interests include Women's Health, and Sexual and Reproductive Health. Past roles include CPD Director and AARP Management Chair for the Department of Family Medicine, University of Calgary.
She is involved in Postgraduate Residency Training, Undergraduate Medical Education, Faculty Development, and is the current Deputy Department Head, Academic Department of Family Medicine, University of Calgary. Dr. Lee is an ACFP Board Member and Board Vice-Chair for the Foundation for Medical Practice Education.
She enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and watching her 3 children play soccer.
