The objective of the survey analysis is to assess the current situation regarding needs and challenges of stakeholders from public and private sector, with special focus on analysis of needs and challenges in the field of sustainability, and activities toward creating sustainable city.
This intellectual output is very important because it will serve as a base for further development of the project. The objective of the survey analysis is to assess the current situation regarding needs and challenges of stakeholders from public and private sector, with special focus on analysis of needs and challenges in the field of sustainability, and activities toward creating sustainable city.
Project partners contributed with analysis on European level and data on current situation in North Macedonia, Italy, Austria and Czech Republic. During this process the willingness of representatives of public institutions, companies, managers and citizens to be included in the process of urban planning of sustainable cities was assessed. Engagement of public and private sector, and striving toward long-term collaboration is an added value from this analysis.
The specially designed methodology for survey analysis of the needs and challenges can be adjust for other analysis as well. This analysis will have innovative multi level approach by assessment and analysis and it will be create tailor-made tools for the needs of the survey.
The questionnaire was conducted in the early stages of the project to assess the current situations in the partner countries to analyze the potential for building sustainable city. The questionnaire was sent to multiple stakeholders, including public institutions, NGOs, universities and companies to collect information about:
The knowledge of the respondent regarding sustainable development and sustainability
Assessment of the current personal and national sustainability practices and policy
Pinpointing the main threats to the sustainability on a local level
Pinpointing the satisfactory aspects to the sustainability on a local level
Ideas and suggestions for sustainable solutions
Assessment of the needs of the respondents regarding sustainability cities
Demographic data
The questionnaire was distributed in three different languages – English, Macedonian, and Czech. The questionnaire comprised 12 questions (open questions, multiple choice, rating from none (1) to exceptional high (5) or Yes/No questions). Additionally, there were 9 questions, related to the respondent.
Data was collected by means of an online survey sent out via email to relevant stakeholders, using the contacts and database of each partner organization. The link for the survey was also publicly available, and published on all media channels.
In this survey research questions were asked to understand what are the differences between the understanding of sustainability in different countries, their positions and perception of their experiences. We also wanted to find out what are the main differences, and also what did this mean for the solutions that the project will recommend.
