We met with Gregory for a user observation session on October 29th, 2021. We created a mock slip bobber and asked Gregory if he could tell when the bobber was laying sideways and when the bobber was flipped upright. He was able to correctly state the position of the bobber right away. This gave us hope that the design that involves the bobber could successfully solve Gregory's main problem. Additionally, he tried clipping and unclipping a standard clip to a pot. He described this process to be very easy. This made us think more about utilizing a clip in our design to adjust the length of the fishing line. Gregory also said that the materials we use should be food safe and easy to wash. He said most of his pots and pans are made of stainless steel. This made us think more about using stainless steel materials in our design.
