For our original project, we were given a dog named Pierre. Pierre is an 11 year old small dog who has trouble jumping onto his owner’s bed. Due to the new hardwood floors, his inability to gain traction when trying to jump up or down posed a potential safety hazard for him. Our assignment was to design a device that will safely assist Pierre on and off the bed that can easily be stored or concealed while not damaging the hardwood floors.

Due to unfortunate events, we were notified that Pierre had passed away. We had built our first prototype and were about to move onto starting the final design when we were informed of the news. We were very sad upon hearing this information. Thankfully, Ann Delaney was kind enough to help us create a new project that would help her dogs as well.
