Below you will find copies of the Formative Assessments, Summative Assessments, and the Rubrics for this project.
By clicking on the links, you will be asked to "make a copy" of the Rubrics and Learning Log, so that each individual will have their own to fill in.
Part One -Checklist
For this assessment, each student will complete a Checklist using Google Doc.
This checklist should be reviewed on a daily basis. If time is available, students can enter information during the last five minutes of each class.
The Checklist will be submitted electronically to the teacher at the end of each day.
The teacher will leave comments/recommendations each day on the student's progress.
Part Two- Journal/Learning Log
For this assessment, each student will complete a Learning Log using Google Doc.
New submissions to this log should be completed on a daily basis. If time is available, students can enter information into their learning log during the last five minutes of each class.
The Learning Log will be submitted electronically to the teacher at the end of each day.
The teacher will leave comments/recommendations each day on the student's progress. There is a space at the bottom of each day's page for this reflection.
Part Three- Prototype
For this assessment, each student will submit their computer-generated quilt pattern for evaluation.
This prototype pattern will be submitted to the teacher no later than the end of the first week.
The prototype should be submitted electronically to the teacher.
The teacher will use the "comment" bar in the Google Drawing document to leave comments/recommendations for the student.

Part Four- Observation
For this assessment, the teacher will assess the progress of the student by direct observation of their sewing skills.
Teachers will use cross-sectional techniques by observing the skills over the week-long project to observe improvement in skills and techniques.

Teacher will mark the grade directly on the rubric for each student.
Part One - Self Evaluation
Each student will complete the final evaluation form on their own project.
The Peer Evaluation form will be completed in Google Docs and submitted electronically to the teacher.

Part Two- Peer Evaluation
For this assessment, each student will complete the final evaluation form on two other students.
The Peer Evaluation form will be completed in Google Docs and submitted electronically to the teacher.

Part Three - Product Presentation
For this presentation, each student will show their classmate their finished quilt. Students will explain the use of color and design, identify the geometric shapes in the quilt, and explain the connection to their culture.
The teacher will use the Product Presentation rubric to evaluate each presentation.

Part Four - Authentic Product
For this assessment, each student will submit their finished quilt product for an overall evaluation of the entire lesson including reading, artwork, sewing skills, presentation of project, and connection to culture.
The teacher will use the Authentic Product rubric to evaluate the final project.
