Every Tuesday and Thursday, I conduct a 25-minute storytelling session for Grade 1 to Grade 4 students. It's a joyful and engaging time with young learners, giving them the opportunity to listen to English picture books and practice speaking in English in a relaxed and fun environment. These sessions not only build their language skills but also spark their imagination and love for reading.
After each storytelling session, I extend the learning experience by engaging the students in interactive games or creative art activities. These follow-up activities are thoughtfully designed to reinforce the themes and vocabulary introduced during the story, while also encouraging the children to express themselves in fun and imaginative ways. Whether it's a simple drawing related to the story, a coloring task, a role-playing game, or a word-based challenge, these activities help solidify their understanding and make the learning more meaningful. More importantly, they create a joyful and inclusive environment where students feel confident using the English language. Through these hands-on experiences, I aim to nurture not only their language skills, but also their creativity, collaboration, and love for learning.
