One of the highlights of my week is our English Learning Passport activity—a fun, low-pressure opportunity for students to practice their speaking skills one-on-one. Every two weeks, students come down individually to read aloud key vocabulary, short phrases, tongue twisters, or songs related to what their grade is currently learning.
This activity is a great way to support students’ pronunciation and build their confidence in speaking English. It gives me the chance to work closely with each student, offering encouragement and gentle corrections in a relaxed setting. I especially enjoy getting to interact with students from every grade—not just the ones I teach in class—which helps me build wider connections across the school.
The English Learning Passport is a simple yet meaningful way to support language learning beyond the classroom. It creates space for personal attention, celebrates progress, and helps students associate speaking English with fun, not stress.
