Additional AI Resources

ChatGPT

ChatGPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) is a large language model created by OpenAI designed to understand and generate human-like text. It excels at engaging in conversations, answering questions, and providing information across a wide range of topics. ChatGPT is powered by algorithms and extensive training data that enables it to comprehend and generate text. The current free iteration of ChatGPT (3.5) is trained on data prior to January 2022, which means that is its knowledge base limitation. All information generated with ChatGPT should be approached with healthy skepticism and a critical lens to validate the accuracy of the information.  Although there are other AI platforms available, ChatGPT’s terms of service, acceptable use policy, and 13+ with parent/ guardian permission aligns with the goals of TUSD. It is free to create an account for GPT 3.5 and offers the option to log in with Google.  Create an account and ask away!

Ideogram

Ideogram AI is a free text-to-image generator  that uses artificial intelligence to generate photorealistic images based on your text input. It was launched in August 2023 by a team of former Google Brain researchers. AI is a free tool, but it does have some limitations. For example, you can only generate four images at a time, the images and lettering are not always perfect, and users must possess a discerning eye for any potential bias that may be produced. There are a variety of purposes for Ideogram such as: creating concept art, generating product designs, designing logos and branding, illustrating books and articles, creating social media graphics, and personal art.  Although there are other AI platforms available, Ideogram’s terms of service, acceptable use policy, and 13+ with parent/ guardian permission aligns with the goals of TUSD.
