In summer 2019, I had the opportunity to complete a teacher internship at E. & J. Gallo Winery. In summer 2022, I had the opportunity to complete a teacher internship at the Turlock Journal and the Modesto Bee. I created a lesson plan where my students would write letters to the editor about topics of importance to them. They would address an issue, take a stance on it, and make recommendations about it. Many of my student letters were published in these two newspapers.
The State Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by the State of California in partnership with county offices and local school districts. It recognizes and honors student attainment of proficiency in English and at least one other world language by high school graduation. In spring 2023, I had the opportunity to be a Language Assessor for Assyrian Neo-Aramaic. It was a great experience.
