GPA: TPS will calculate two GPAs based on all non pass/fail courses; the higher GPA will be used for screening. The first GPA includes all of 2020-21 and 1st semester of 2021-2022. The second GPA will only include Spring 2021 and Fall 2021. Students must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher to qualify.
Test Scores: TPS will consider students’ highest MAP or OPI scores from the past year. The student must score at or above the 35th percentile in both Reading and Math to qualify.
Students must qualify in both Reading and Math.
TPS Students will have an additional opportunity to take the MAP Reading and Math exams in January with their current school.
Non-TPS students may submit an equivalent norm-referenced exam.
The TPS Enrollment Center will be administering the MAP Reading and Math exams to students who have no scores to submit. Tentative dates are: 2/1, 2/5, 2/8, and 2/12.
Attendance: Due to distance learning in 2020-2021, TPS will not use attendance data for this admissions cycle.
Teacher Recommendation: TPS will no longer require nor use teacher recommendations in evaluating a student’s application.
Discipline: Suspensions will no longer automatically disqualify students from consideration. All students with suspension will be reviewed by a committee to approve or deny the application to move forward.
If an applicant is not a current TPS student, all documentation relating to any suspension record must be submitted for consideration.
For all applicants currently enrolled in TPS, suspension information, including details of the incident, will be pulled from Powerschool.
