The CdS Choirs have been recognized for their excellence on and off the stage for over 40 years! Our concerts are known to be highly musical and entertaining. Our students are some of the most hard-working and talented singers in the state!
JOIN CHOIR for the 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR!!
Auditions are being held during the week before Spring Break. Reach out to Mr. DeValk to set up an audition time either during lunch, or before or after school. No experience necessary!
The audition consists of 3 parts:
Sight-singing (read some notes on a page)
Tonal recall (sing back what you hear)
Solo singing of the Star Spangled Banner (words provided).

Congratulations to all of our CdS choir students who participated in the Regional audition process! Whether students made the regional honor choir or not, there was remarkable growth among our singers! Many students work hard both in and out of class by taking voice lessons and taking every opportunity to learn. I’m so proud of all of you!
Over 300 students auditioned for the choir and Corona had 31 students make it into the choir with 5 alternates. We “swept” the 1st chairs for each section - soprano, alto, tenor, bass, one of which earned a perfect score on his sight-singing and solo. Several others earned a perfect score on their sight-singing.
And it’s worthy to note that we placed 6 freshman in the choir!!
The festival takes place at Central High School February 14 & 15 with a concert the afternoon of the 15th. Stay tuned for more info!
