Students from St Anthony's Catholic College proudly attended the 2025 Blak Excellence Luncheon.
The afternoon allowed strong First Nations voices like Stan Grant (journalist, writer, radio and television presenter and theologian), Deb Belyea (NAIDOC Poster Winner and Cultural Consultant) and other mentors from across the region to inspire our students with stories of resilience, vision and success.

She heard from Tristan Neiliman-Adams, who shared his inspiring journey of resilience and perseverance through the Indigenous Marathon Project.
Emerging leaders student Brock Lowndes engaging in a Deb Belyea's portrait session, where students were invited to create a paper collage of someone they respect and admire. The activity encouraged students to reflect on positive role models, personal values and the qualities that inspire strong and healthy leadership.
Students and families from St Anthony's Catholic College gathered for a memorable End of Year Dinner, celebrating connection, growth and achievement.
We were honoured to welcome special guest William Mabo, who led a calming meditation session with students and families, creating a moment of reflection and gratitude. He also took the time to have a yarn with students and their families, sharing wisdom and encouragement as the year came to a close.

Students participated in a Cultural Art Workshop with local artist Ricky Emmerton. They had a wonderful time exploring various cultural painting techniques and creating their own unique masterpieces. We are so proud of the amazing pieces they created and the cultural connections they made during this experience.
Our National Reconciliation Week 2024 liturgy at St Anthony's Catholic College powerfully embraced this year’s theme, “Now More Than Ever.”
First Nations students placed ochre on students and staff at the College as a symbol of coming together in truth and reconciliation. A special moment was shared between Annie Fox and College Captain Jericho and Jonathon and his mates as they presented their ochre.
Jonanthon, Dexter and Malachia put their chef skills to work, baking NAIDOC biscuits for our College celebration of culture and community.
With aprons on and plenty of teamwork in the kitchen, the boys showed great focus and pride as they prepared the biscuits as they measured, mixed and decorated their creations.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity to formally meet Stan Grant, whose powerful reflections on identity, truth and courage deeply resonated with our young leaders. Students also listened to a range of prominent local and national leaders who shared their journeys, challenges and hopes for the next generation.
A small but proud contingent of St Anthony's Catholic College students and staff attended the Emerging Leaders Showcase at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The evening was a powerful celebration of the Emerging Leaders Program, highlighting the incredible reach of the initiative and the strength of student voice, leadership and community connection. It was inspiring to witness our young leaders recognised on such a significant stage and to see the impact of culture, mentorship and opportunity coming together in such a meaningful way.

Our very own First Nations Leader - Lucy Duncan has gained selection into the North Queensland Open Volleyball Team. She has been hard at work developing her skill over the past 3 years and will compete at the QLD Campionships later in the year.

A proud moment for our College with the unveiling of the inaugural Indigenous Uniform at St Anthony’s Catholic College.
The design pays tribute to the mural designed at the Assisi Campus by local artist Robert Paul, honouring culture, story, and community connection. It was fantastic to see both staff and students proudly representing the uniform at its launch.
