Individual Reward System
I use Class Dojo to enforce classroom rules. Students earn a weekly paycheck for their classroom job and can receive bonuses and fines for behavior. They can save or spend their earnings on classroom prizes such as lunch with the teacher, candy, sit at the back table for a day, bring a stuffed animal to school, a fun sticker, prize box, or they can buy a ducky reward for the whole class.Â
Whole Class Reward System
Students have the opportunity to work together to earn a group prize. This is a teacher vs. student style game. We have a small basketball hoop in our classroom. Students will have the opportunity to shoot the basketball when they earn a 5 at special, receive compliments from adults in our building, or do something exceptional as a class (EX: No interruptions, following directions, etc.) However, the teacher will have an opportunity to shoot the basketball if expectations are not followed. 5 teacher points result in students losing 2 points, but the exciting part for students will be that once they've collectively scored 5 points, they get to erase all the teacher's points! They need 10 points to earn a whole group prize. The points fully reset once the students or teacher reaches 10 points.
