The kansa indians or the kaw tribe they lived in kansas and Oklahoma.
One fact is that the kaw indians kinda had a rough life before the Europeans or Americans came, because they had a lot of enemies. Another fact is their first conflict. They met the french in c1750, they formed a bond with them and were interested in fur trading. Another conflict was when the Americans helped the Kaw Indians and Osage tribe signed a treaty that said they would never fight a battle against each other again. An important person for the kaw indians is Joseph jame jr. rode 60 miles during a battle to get reinforcements and riding with him is charles curtis 8 year old that later became vice president of the united states ,and a lawyer. About the war that Joseph was in it was against the Kaw and Chennyee and one of the chiefs died by an indian the chiefs name was Dan George.Another conflict with the Americans is during the indian removal act and they agreed to pay the Kaw Indians $3,500 per 20 years successive years at their village.
