The project also helped me develop my English communication skills.
I used English throughout the project to communicate with the cast and production crews, explain instructions, give feedback, discuss problems and organise rehearsals. I also worked with actors on pronunciation, vocal delivery, emotional expression and characterisation.
I became more comfortable using English vocabulary related to drama and production, including terms such as cues, transitions, stage positioning, entrances, exits, props, sound effects and lighting.
More importantly, I learned that effective communication is not only about knowing English. If someone did not understand my explanation, I had to find another way to communicate the idea.
This will be useful in my future teaching career. Teachers also have to explain instructions, manage groups, monitor progress and communicate with people from different backgrounds.
The project taught me that clear communication is important, but flexibility is equally important. I need to be able to adjust how I communicate depending on the people I am working with.
