The Eduqas A Level Drama course is broken down into three components. Components 1 and 2 are coursework based. For both components 1 and 2, you may choose from the following skills:
Performing
Sound design
Lighting design
Set design (including props)
Costume design (including hair and make-up).
Component 1 - Reinterpreting - 20%:
Learners participate in the creation, development and performance of:
One reinterpretation of an extract from a text, using the working methods and techniques of either an influential theatre practitioner or a recognised theatre company.
Learners are required to produce a creative log between 1200 and 1500 words which explains:
How ideas are created and developed to communicate meaning as part of the theatre-making process
Component 2 - Devised and Scripted - 40%:
Learners participate in the creation, development and performance of:
One devised piece using the working methods and techniques of a second different influential theatre practitioner or recognised theatre company
One extract from a text in a different style to the devised performance
Learners are required to produce a Process and Evaluation Report between 2500 and 3000 words which explains:
How ideas are created and developed to communicate meaning as part of the theatre-making process
Make connections between dramatic theory and practice
Analyse and evaluate their own work and the work of others
