Trimble Quadri Help
The performance of a computer depends on very many factors. There is no definitive answer on how to set things for optimal performace. In general, having enough RAM is essential.
If you notice slow performance when using Quadri for Windows and you are working on huge worksets (zQuadriModelBackup >10 GB), you can test the following to adjust your pagefile handling.
Before you do this:
restart your computer
start Quadri for Windows and nothing else and do a few timing tests: open a certain project, reserve, release etc.
After adjusting the pagefile settings, do the same again (restarting and going straight to QfW) and compare to see if there was any effect.
Open System Properties:
Right-click on 'This PC' or 'Computer' on your desktop or in File Explorer.
Select 'Properties'.
Advanced System Settings:
In the System window, click on 'Advanced system settings' on the left sidebar.
Performance Options:
In the System Properties window, under the 'Advanced' tab, click on 'Settings' in the Performance section.
Virtual Memory:
In the Performance Options window, go to the 'Advanced' tab.
Click on 'Change' in the Virtual Memory section.
Modify Pagefile Settings:
Uncheck 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives' if it is checked.
Select the drive where you want to change the pagefile settings.
Choose 'Custom size' and enter the initial and maximum size for the pagefile. Select your RAM size as "minimum" and 2x your RAM size as maximum. Make sure you have enough disk space for this and still have more than 20% of your disk free!
Click 'Set', then 'OK'.
